Menopause
Menopause is the permanent cessation of menstruation as a result of loss of ovarian function. The diagnosis of menopause requires one year after the last menstrual period.
Menopause is part of a natural process that occurs with aging. The menstrual period ends when a woman enters menopause. This is a period when a woman can no longer become pregnant. Although menopause can occur at any time after the age of 35, it typically occurs in the late 40s and early 50s.

Whilst some women may experience a smoother transition, others may suffer from physical symptoms like hot flushes or emotional symptoms such as anxiety, sadness, or feeling lost. These can lead to disruptions in sleep patterns and reduced energy levels. Additionally, menopause may be accompanied by health issues such as osteoporosis and heart disease. There are numerous effective treatments, including lifestyle adjustments and hormone therapy that can diminish the symptoms that trouble women during menopause or provide some relief during this period. |
eLAB Laboratories utilizes state-of-art testing to determine the onset of menopause through a blood sample collected from a vein in the arm.
Osteoporosis
Bone is a living, dynamic tissue that undergoes daily anabolic and catabolic turnover. When the balance between anabolic and catabolic activity is disturbed due to hormonal or dietary changes, the bone loses some of the minerals that contribute to its density and strength. Osteoporosis is a condition characterized by significant bone density loss, where the bone becomes weaker and prone to fractures.
