Bladder Cancer Smoking is the most significant risk factor for bladder cancer, typically causing painless bleeding while urinating in individuals over 65 years old. When blood is present in urine, imaging methods are used to investigate the presence of tumors in the urinary tract. Urine cytopathology can also aid in diagnosis. However, these examinations possess lower diagnostic value in the detection of bladder tumors. The most valuable diagnostic method is cystoscopy following the imaging methods. Cystoscopy, in which a thin, lighted instrument is inserted through the urethra to view the inside of the bladder, also offers the opportunity to take samples from suspicious tissues if necessary. During the cystoscopy procedure, any tumor formations are removed and both pathological diagnosis and treatment are provided. Depending on the pathology findings, additional treatment may be required. |
Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer is the second deadliest cancer in men, after lung cancer, and is prevalent among the aging population. The risk of developing the disease increases after the age of 50, with a considerably higher rate between the ages of 60 and 80.
The most important point in prostate cancer is to diagnose the disease at an early stage, before the onset of symptoms. This enhances the chances of effective treatment and facilitates the treatment process.
