Beta HCG hormone is utilized for detecting pregnancy. It initially elevates in the bloodstream and subsequently in the urine. Its value is a determinant of the gestational week during pregnancy. 

Beta HCG hormone gets secreted by the placenta after fertilization. High values can be detected in the blood sample around 11 days after fertilization. The procedure can be performed in a laboratory by drawing a tube of blood for analysis. Results can be obtained on the same day. There is no need to prepare for the blood test, as it can be taken at any time without fasting or being satiated. However, it may be more beneficial to take the test a few days after the menstrual cycle for optimal results.
